Governments rise and fall, but McDonald's is forever

This is for my brother, Scott:
Seventeen years ago, we came to Prague together.  The Velvet Revolution was only six years past.  We were traveling on student Eurorail passes and only intended to stay in Prague for a couple days.  But when we arrived at the train station, there were flyers everywhere for Neil Young and Pearl Jam playing at the end of the week.

So we stayed.

Mr. Soul and Pearl Jam were phenomenal and the concert is still remembered in Prague today.  We watched these incredible performers with lots of young Czech students (who are now part of Czechoslovakia's growing and grown-up middle class).  And then, in a fit of patriotism, we went to McDonald's.  Because when you cross the world to see American music icons in concert, you should certainly end the evening with Mickey D's.

I'm pretty sure this is a photo of that same McDonald's still overlooking an old square (now filled with tourist shops).  Good times.
