This one's for Grandpa. |
Against their better judgment, the girls agreed to do some cultural sightseeing in Milan. We visited the
Duomo, of course, and the girls lit a candle to offer any prayer they wished.
Here are pictures (including experimentation with our camera's "color extraction" setting).
We also stopped at
Teatro alla Scala, which is a place that Grandpa Wong spoke of often. The girls were not prepared to commit to the 3 1/2 hour performance of
Don Pasquale, but it was a quick, fun museum tour. We even got to stand inside a theater box and watch the crew prepare for the evening performance.
With all that culture out of the way, we spent a good long time browsing at the Design Super Market,
La Rinascente. It's several floors of designer clothing, perfume, accessories and fascinating things-you-don't-need.
We had one last mission to complete in Milan. Because the girls' hair had gotten unmanageably long, it was time for a cut. And in Milan, we decided to go for a runway look.
Here are the girls, getting their first "grown up" hair cuts by Salvatore Mazzota:
